South Africa’s IFAs learnt in June they would be held much more accountable for customer outcomes once the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) is fully introduced.
The news came from Caroline da Silva, deputy executive officer of of the financial advisory and intermediary service at the Financial Services Board (FSB), who said suppliers will be responsible for their products at all times, “but if they have any influence at all over a registered financial adviser (RFA) they are going to take responsibility for the adviser as well”.
