Healthcare

Perhaps the most significant of the current trends in healthcare is the wave of new product innovation, particularly in therapeutics.
The world’s population is ageing in both developed and developing countries. The population of people aged 60 years and older has doubled since 1980 and is expected to do so again by 2050, with 2 billion people forecast to be over age 60 by the year 2050.
This is very relevant for healthcare, as healthcare spending increases exponentially beyond age 50. People aged 75 or older spend nearly three times as much on healthcare are people aged 45 to 54.
