The £10.5bn fund is the largest fund in the top five and deservedly so. Launched in 2005, the tracker is the top performing over three and five years delivering 6.07% and 7.32% annualised returns net of fees respectively, according to Morningstar.
Compare that to the most expensive FTSE All Share tracker on offer, the Virgin UK Tracker, which charges 1% and has returned 4.85% and 6.23% annualised over three and five years respectively. The iShares fund has therefore delivered annualised outperformance of 122 basis points and 109 basis points over each respective period.
