What do asset managers get paid?

New data has revealed the most generous asset managers in terms of salary – so how much exactly does a director, VP, associate or analyst across Europe actually get paid?
The data, gathered between 2015 and 2017, has been put together by salary benchmarking site Emolument.
The research focuses on both senior and junior positions, while also looking at the best paying European cities.
So where would you get paid the most? As a managing director of a Swiss asset manager, you could expect to be remunerated to the tune of €229,000.
Analysts, associates, vice presidents and directors all receive a significant proportion more in their salaries than their counterparts in London, Paris or Frankfurt.
The average director salary is €60,000 higher in the Swiss city than in London, but with half the bonus.
However, London-based firms are better paying than those in the French capital. The average director salary is just €108,000 in Paris as opposed to the English average of €142,000.
So, without further ado, here’s the average salaries (and bonuses) for key asset manager roles in London.
