Other American firms are right behind them – JP Morgan pays a salary of £135,000, while Fidelity offers £125,000. Both offer a bonus of £130,000.

Henderson Global Investors also offered a total of £240,000 including bonus, during the period, though this may well change following its recent restructuring as Janus Henderson.
