The best and worst funds of Q3
By , 2 Oct 15
In this gallery, we round up the five best and worst performing funds of Q3 2015, revealing absolute return funds have done well while those targeting Brazil have suffered.
For global markets, the third quarter of 2015 was anything but the traditional period of summer downtime.
With many City desks unmanned – their occupants sunning themselves amid the crumbling ruins of the Greek economy or traipsing around South East Asia and other beauty spots – led by China, markets adopted a ‘when the cat’s away…’ mentality.
As Chinese A-shares tumbled other markets were dragged with it, leading to a global equities rout – not to mention the ongoing ‘trivialities’ in the fixed income and commodities spaces – which, while it has abated to some extent, is still offering no indication as to where it will go next.
But in the midst of such carnage a question arises: which managers swam with the tide, and who got taken under?
As it should be, we will do the good news first…
