Best and worst expat countries for high pay
By Kirsten Hastings, 13 Apr 17
The best places to earn a decent annual wage without having to work around the clock are in western Europe. Eastern Europe fared badly but Mexico ranked bottom, a recent report by ExpatFinder found.
Mexico ranked bottom of the 32 countries listed, holding the dubious honour of having the lowest average annual wage and expecting employees to work, by far, the most hours.
Chile, Estonia, Hungary and Latvia round out the bottom five countries for earnings/work life balance.
The OECD comprises 35 member countries. Iceland, New Zealand and Turkey were not included in the report; however, no reason was given for this.
