Unicorns star manager John McClure passes

According to a stockmarket notice, top-performing fund manager John McClure has passed away.
One of the top-performing UK fund managers, McClure co-managed the £676.7m Unicorn Income Fund since 2004. In the ten years since he took over, the fund returned a cumulative performance of 264.8%, compared to the IMA UT UK Equity Income performance of 124.7%, according to FE Analytics.
McClure was also co-manager of the £87m UK Smaller Companies Fund, the £30m UK Growth Fund and the £24.7m Outstanding British Companies Fund.
Additionally, he was also one of three co-managers on the Acorn Income Trust’s smaller companies portfolio.
“The board of Acorn Income Fund Limited has been notified by Unicorn Asset Management Limited that John McClure, one of three co-managers on the company's smaller companies portfolio, has sadly passed away,” the statement released by the board said.
“The board sends its condolences to John's family.”
