At Sovereign, Woodland will be responsible for promoting the fiduciary services of Sovereign Trust's Guernsey office, as well as those of the other 25 jurisdictions in which the group operates.
He will also oversee the building of relationships between the company and professional introducers across the Channel Islands, the UK, and elsewhere in the world.
Previously these tasks would have been handled at Sovereign by local board members as needed.
Prior to joining Sovereign Trust, Woodland, whose career in financial services spans 25 years in the financial services industry, was head of local markets for Barclays Wealth’s Guernsey office.
The Sovereign Group was founded more than 25 years ago.
Among the company’s areas of expertise are qualifying recognised overseas pension schemes, such as its Malta-domiciled Centaurus Retirement Benefit Scheme. It markets regular and “lite” versions of its schemes out of Malta, Gibraltar and the Isle of Man.
