France, who officially begins his new role on 1 Oct, spent the past three years building a consultancy business advising wealth managers and platform providers on global distribution and business development.
The appointment follows the decision of Skandia International’s incumbent sales director, Richard Rogers, to leave the company next month. As International Adviser reported in August, Rogers has headed the international sales team at Skandia since 1998.
France will oversee Skandia International’s sales operation, which includes continental Europe, Hong Kong, the Middle East, Singapore, South Africa, South America and the UK. France will also be responsible for the firm’s growth and distribution strategies across those regions.
“He joins us at a very exciting time as the business enters a phase of renewed focus and transformation,” said Steven Levin, Skandia International’s recently-appointed chief executive officer.
Prior to setting up the consultancy business, France was a national sales manager at Prudential and the head of the business partner channel at Axa Sun Life. He also held sales and business development roles, at several global business and IT service providers.
Skandia International, the offshore business of Old Mutual Wealth Management, comprises Royal Skandia, Skandia Life Ireland and Old Mutual International. The firm had £17bn in funds under management at the end of June.
