Hoxton Capital Management has appointed Sam Oakes as its first head of creative, a role that will see him spearhead the launch of a new podcast that intends to cover issues affecting the financial planning space.
Oakes spent 15 years building Recruit UK which recruited talent for the financial planning space, which he successfully exited earlier this year. He also created Financial Planner Life, which has gone on to become a leading podcast and media platform covering working in the financial planning industry.
The award-winning podcast shares stories of success, failures, learnings, as well as what to expect from a career in the industry and has achieved a top 10 position in Apple Podcast’s Careers charts.
Oakes said: “Speaking with Chris and the rest of the team it’s clear they want to grow, they want to develop and build the proposition out to be the number one proposition in the world.”
“For me, aligning myself to a business that shares similar values to mine is important, because I am a growth mindset individual.”
“Chris is really passionate about the platform that we have created to educate people about fantastic careers within the financial planning profession, not just in the UK but in the world.
“I am extremely passionate about attracting new talent to the profession and want to use this platform to help Hoxton attract and train talent globally.
“We want to give the international market a different feel. The aim of the game for me is to bring that to life – and to answer peoples’ questions about the market.”
Chris Ball, managing partner at Hoxton Capital Management added: “We are very excited to welcome Sam to our team, Sam has a proven track record in our industry and will add huge amounts of value to the Hoxton proposition as we grow from being a traditional IFA, to a wealth-tech enabled business.
“Sam has an unparalleled understanding of what is required to attract and nurture the industry’s best talent, something that we place huge importance on within our business.”
The new Hoxton podcast will be accessible via the Hoxton Wealth app, which the company launched earlier this year. Hoxton Wealth allows anyone free, real-time access to their entire net worth on their mobile phone wherever they are in the world.
The company believes it is the first app that offers users free, real-time access to their assets globally, on a single platform.
