The new division, called ‘immigration investment and wealth management’, is aimed at developing the firm’s proposition for those seeking a tier 1 investor visa, which is for high-net-worth individuals who want to make a substantial financial investment in the UK.
This is an area that many advisers shy away from but London & Capital co-founder Daniel Freedman said: “The prevailing global economic and political climate, allied to the attractions of an established education, health and legal system, means growing numbers of families see the UK as a safe haven. As a result we are seeing a new market emerge, those seeking a tier 1 investor visa”.
He added that US resident non-doms and green card holders accounted for a significant portion of London & Capital’s revenues and that Estcourt’s team will cover not just the complex investment requirements of a tier 1 investor visa, but a full wealth management service, which will include financial planning, real estate issues, and general planning.
The new division will also tap into the firm’s professional contacts, to enable clients to be introduced to tax advisers, legal experts and others.
“This will ensure we deliver the best possible solution for those following the path to either temporary residency or full UK citizenship,” said Freedman.
Estcourt previously worked for London-based wealth manager, Merchant Cavendish Young, where he held the position of managing director and wealth manager.
