The position was describes as a new one, and reflects an expansion in the area of strategic development and business intelligence, a company spokesman said. Until a few months ago an external consultant had been looking after the area, which otherwise has tended to be handled by the company’s chief executive and sales director, the spokesman added.
Prior to joining Lombard, Pinte had been director for international sales at Cardif Lux Vie, also a Luxembourg insurer, which is part of BGL BNP Paribas, the group created by the acquisition of BGL by BNP Paribas. Pinte previously held senior positions in the corporate finance, private banking and life assurance sectors, Lombard said.
As reported, John Stone, who founded Lombard in 1991 and had most recently served the company in the role of chairman, and chief executive David Steinegger, both left the company earlier this year. Steinegger was succeeded by the company’s CFO, Matt Morin, and Stone by Norbert Becker, a former non-executive director.
