The appointments bring the total number of partners at the internationally-focused law firm to 40.
Kistler, who is based in Jersey, is the firm’s newest litigation group partner, while Guernsey-based Crosland is the newest partner in its corporate group.
Kistler qualified as a Jersey advocate earlier this year, having joined Carey Olsen in 2005 from the commercial litigation department of a major New Zealand law firm. He spent several years practising from Carey Olsen’s London office before moving to the Jersey office in 2011.
Crosland, meanwhile, trained with Clifford Chance in London, and qualified for its private funds group in 2004. He joined Carey Olsen’s corporate group in 2007, and qualified as a Guernsey advocate in 2011. At Carey Olsen, he advises fund managers and financial services firms on the launch, administration, restructuring and listing of closed and open-ended investment funds, including exchange-listed funds.
Carey Olsen is one of the largest law firms active in the Channel Islands. In addition to its offices in Jersey and Guernsey, it also has a presence in London, the British Virgin Islands, South Africa and the Cayman Islands. It was created in 2003 by the merger of Jersey firm Olsens and Guernsey’s Carey Langlois.
