It’s squeaky bum time for senior executives as Australia’s banking, superannuation and financial advice firms face the intense scrutiny of a Royal Commission. Click through the slides below to read some of the incredible moments from the first week of the review into financial advice.
The whistleblower at the heart of the revelations against CBA’s financial planning division told newspaper Canberra Times that wrongdoers “deserve to be exposed like paedophile priests”.
His comments relate to an earlier Royal Commission into allegations of child abuse within the Catholic Church.
“This army of corrupt managers who oversaw this harvesting of thousands of innocent people and pocketed bonuses have been allowed to rise off into the sunset and work elsewhere in the industry.”
Having joined CBA as a financial planner in 2008, Morris said he soon uncovered evidence of corruption that reached the upper echelons of the company.
Morris describes himself on Twitter as “Whistleblower re CBA Financial Planning Scandal. Campaigner for Royal Commission into Financial Services. Asic skeptic”.
