8AM Global, which was previously called Hasley Investment Management until it rebranded in December last year, will now distribute its products through IDAD as it looks to tap into international markets.
Speaking to International Adviser, managing director of IDAD Clive Moore said the expat market is underserved for high-quality multi-asset funds, and said this new global distribution agreement is a response to this demand.
New hires
The structured product specialist also announced the hire of Ed Birkbeck, who will build the global distribution of the 8AM range of risk-controlled funds in Asia.
Birkbeck previously worked for the Vietnam arm of expat advisory firm Globaleye.
Jonathan Garvey, who previously worked at Oxford International Holdings in Malta and Qatar, has also joined the IDAD team to work as a sales manager.
Initially he will focus on the family office and private bank markets as IDAD looks to embrace new investment opportunities.
On-the-ground
Moore said it is important for IDAD to have sales managers on-the-ground to compliment the support from the head office in the UK.
He also said the appointments respond to changes in the international markets: “We are seeing far more consolidation between companies and of course far tighter regulation, which can only be a good thing for investors.”
Robust
“Increasingly advisers are looking for robust, risk-controlled solutions to meet their clients’ needs, both in the wealth management and institutional sectors.
“We’re keen to provide these solutions with the expertise built up over many years within IDAD and 8AM Global.”
IDAD will continue to distribute its structured products.
