The company has already established itself in the Middle East, with offices in Dubai and Qatar, as well as across Europe and in the Far East. However, its chief executive David Howell wants to expand into the UK and plans to open new headquarters in Cardiff in June.
Shalton is set to join the firm on 1 September. She will join the company from Bluefin Wealth Management where she held the position of Certified Financial Planner and Wealth Manager. Prior to this, Shalton established her own business which was bought by Bluefin in 2007. Shalton is also president of the UK’s Institute of Financial Planning.
Howell said: “We are thrilled to welcome Marlene to the team at Guardian Wealth Management. Her passion and commitment to Financial Planning make her an ideal representative of our company. I believe Marlene’s experience and distinguished career will be invaluable to Guardian Wealth Management as we seek to expand our interests in the financial planning space.”
The CEO added that the company hopes to have recruited 136 additional Certified Financial Planners in the next five years.
“The UK has unlimited potential and we are eager to develop these new opportunities and create a blueprint for Financial Planning practice,” added Howell.
