The Eaton Vance (Ireland) Multi-Sector Income Fund uses bottom-up stock picking and a multi-sector approach to investing across the income markets and aims to provide investors with returns through a combination of current income and capital appreciation.
The Fund will invest across a wide range of global income securities, both fixed and floating rate, including corporate bonds, US and non-US government securities, mortgage related and other asset backed securities, as well as convertible securities.
Experienced bond manager Kathleen Gaffney, co-director, diversified fixed income for Eaton Vance Management (International) will be the lead portfolio manager of the fund
The new fund will be an Irish domiciled, UCITS fund, authorised to be sold across the European Union and in other countries where it is registered for sale.
“The uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate policy has undoubtedly created a more volatile fixed-income market, which is expected to result in increasing price gaps and the creation of value in the credit markets,” Gaffney said.
“The Fund looks to exploit these gaps by using a credit focused multi-sector approach to investing – which we believe is the best way to find opportunity in income markets today.”
Eaton Vance Corp is one of the oldest investment management firms in the US with a history dating back to 1924 and with its affiliates manages around $311bn in assets.
