Cowley had been with the company for more than nine years and was responsible for Close International’s product and proposition development and marketing across pensions, asset management, trusts, banking, custody and fund administration.
He was based in the company’s Jersey office.
While at Close, Cowley was credited with developing and bringing to market the company’s All Weather Fund in 2003, and has since brought to market a number of retirement products, including QROPS and QNUPS propositions.
Cowley said he plans to establish a freelance consultancy practice, which will “provide industry and client insight into the wealth sector”.
