The French company said the appointment, which will also see Chaput join Oddo Group’s executive committee, will be effective from the 1 February.
Chaput will replace Guido Mundt who was appointed chief executive in April 2011. Mundt had previously been the director general of Banque d’Orsay S.A. which was acquired by Oddo & Cie in November 2010. Oddo & Cier said Mundt will “continue to oversee research missions to find new partnerships with a view to strengthening the group’s presence in German-speaking areas”.
Philippe Oddo, managing-partner of Oddo & Cie, said: “Nicolas Chaput is a recognized professional in the asset management industry. The group will benefit notably from his proven experience in fixed income and his in-depth knowledge of international markets.”
Chaput joins the company from BNP Paribas where he had been chief investment officer of fixed income & money markets for its asset management division since November 2008.
