George previously worked as head of business development at boutique wealth management firm Integral Asset Management, where he was focused on global asset allocation across all asset classes.
In the newly created role, he will report to directly to Old Mutual chief executive Diane Radley, who said in a statement that George’s experience in key strategic roles at asset management firms would “contribute greatly to supporting, mentoring and coaching our boutiques.”
George assumes his role at Old Mutual from the beginning of next month, although he will continue to remain as an adviser to his former employer, and will be a member of Integral’s Investment Committee.
George said that his departure followed the completion of his remit to transform Integral from “a small research business into a fully established asset management operation.” George will be replaced at Integral by new head of business Chris Leshon, who has a remit to expand the firm’s business in Europe, the US and Caribbean.
