Chiu, who reports to OMGI’s head of sales for Asia Kylie Chan, will be responsible for developing relationships with local distributors as well as global financial institutions in the region.
He was formally a managed product specialist within the Portfolio Management Group (Investor Relations) at JP Morgan Private Bank where he was responsible for supporting private bankers from the North Asia team and coordinating new product launches and events with various fund houses.

The move comes as Hong Kong and China announce they will allow the cross-border sales of funds from 1 July which will open up the domestic Chinese market to foreign asset managers for the first time.
Old Mutual Global Investors, which has assets under management of £22.5bn, has recently been expanding its operations across Asia, hiring a four-person Asian equities team in the autumn of 2014 that manages over $500m in the region.
It also appointed of Wong to her role as head of distribution Asia in November 2013 and hired Simon MacKinnon as Asia Strategy Adviser, in February 2015.
