The roles were created as part of the company's expansion into new product areas, as it embarks on a "renewed" five-year marketing and business development strategy, the company said. Both will be based in the company's London offices in Cavendish Square.
Barretto joins IOMA as head of technical services, with responsibility for adding value to the company's existing product range. She has a law degree from London Guildhall University, and is a registered trust and estate practitioner. Most recently she was head of UK trust sales for Barclays Private Wealth.
Mahanta, a neuroscience graduate from University College London, is a student member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, and holds a Cert PFS from the Chartered Insurance Institute and Personal Finance Society. She has held numerous roles in UK and international wealth management. At IOMA, Mahanta will be responsible for business development, specifically having to do with the company's private client network and portfolio of corporate partnerships.
Based in Douglas on the Isle of Man, IOMA was founded more than 30 years ago, and currently manages more than $8bn for clients around the world, making it one of the island's largest independent financial services groups. It is said to be the Isle of Man's first composite insurance company.
