The Value Partners EMQQ Emerging Markets Internet & Ecommerce ETF (VPEMQQ ETF) has been listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange.

The fund offers exposure to over 100 emerging market e-commerce and internet companies.

VPEMQQ ETF tracks the EMQQ Emerging Markets Internet & Ecommerce Index, which captures the performance of internet and e-commerce companies including online retail, search engines, social networking, online video, e-payments, online gaming and online travel.

“The VPEMQQ [ETF] seeks to offer investors exposure to growth opportunities in internet and e-commerce activities in the developing world. They are propelled by the growing middle class, with large swaths of the population accessing the internet for the first time as smartphones and internet connectivity become more affordable,” Value Partners said.

The ETF aims to provide diversification for investors seeking exposure to the target companies in key emerging markets, including China, added the asset manager.

First incepted on 1 June, 2009, the index comprises publicly-traded companies which derive a majority of their assets or revenues from internet and e-commerce in emerging markets.

The fund’s ticker is 3030 on the Hong Kong stock exchange main board and has net assets of HK$231.8m (£24.5m, $29.5m, €29.1m).

The management fee is 0.99% while ongoing charges is estimated to be 1.49% per annum.
