The wealth firm has named Kelly Tramontano as chief operating officer.
She was previously chief executive and president of SWBC Investment Services in San Antonio.
Pimco
The fixed income investment manager has appointed Gregory Hall as head of US global wealth management
Hall is currently managing director and head of private strategies and is based in New York.
He replaces Eric Mogelof, who is leaving after 17 years with the firm.
UBS Private Wealth Management
Private wealth advisers John Hanley, Colin McKay and Michael Francis have joined UBS.
The team collectively manages over $3bn (£2.29bn, €2.55bn) in client assets and they join the UBS northeast private wealth market, based in the Washington, DC.
Karlyn Wright, a trusts and estates specialist, Louis McCabe, a senior wealth strategy associate, and Katherine Andes, a team administrator, will also join the team at UBS Private Wealth Management.
All of the team have provided notices of resignation to their current employers and will be serving out their respective garden leave periods prior to joining UBS.
Hanley has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, having spent the last 15 years at Goldman Sachs.
Prior to moving into the private wealth management industry in 2010, McKay spent 10 years as an investment banker in the Bay Area focused on the technology sector.
Francis spent 10 years at Goldman Sachs working with both private and institutional clients.
Wright has spent all 20 years of her career advising and educating clients on wealth transfer strategies, multigenerational planning, income tax planning, philanthropic planning and asset protection.
Rockefeller Capital Management
The financial advisory firm has hired the Legacy Family Wealth team to its Scottsdale, Arizona office.
Led by Kenneth Milano, managing director and private wealth adviser, the team includes Richie Schmock, Kent Weaver, Alexander Barrett, Laura Rider and Abbey Mathew.
Legacy Family Wealth joins Rockefeller from Morgan Stanley.
Summit Financial
The financial services firm has appointed James Rabasca as senior tax specialist in the Integrated Planning Group.
Most recently, Rabasca served as vice president at Ayco, where he provided financial planning and tax advice to individuals and businesses.
BNY Mellon Wealth Management
The wealth manager has named Lynne Sawyer as senior group manager of deposit product management in New York.
She most recently led cash management product and services at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.
Raymond James
The wealth firm has hired financial advisers Michael Brown, Tammy Brown, and Adam Brown to join its offices in Clayton, Missouri.
The advisers join Raymond James from UBS and are joined by director of communications Victoria Viefhaus and director of client services Suzanne Markus.
The team operates as Mike Brown Financial Group of Raymond James.
People’s United Advisors (PUA)
The registered investment adviser subsidiary of People’s United Bank has hired Anne Donahue as senior vice president and New York regional wealth leader, and David Murphy as senior vice president and Massachusetts regional wealth leader.
Prior to joining PUA, Murphy served as executive managing director, head of wealth advisory at Boston Private Wealth.
Donahue previously served as senior vice president and market leader of private wealth management at US Bank.
M&A
Hightower
The company has made a strategic investment in Stearns Financial Group, a $1.3bn wealth management firm based in North Carolina.
SFG has offices in Chapel Hill and Greensboro, and has 32 employees, including 12 advisers.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Also, Hightower made a strategic investment in Argent Wealth Management, an advisory practice based in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Founded in 1992, Argent has 22 employees, including 11 advisers, who serve high net worth individuals and families in the greater Boston area.
Argent is Hightower’s seventh transaction in 2020.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
