US in the news: Mercer Advisors completes double acquisition

A round-up of people moves and M&A deals across North America

M&A

Mercer Global Advisors

The registered investment adviser (RIA) firm has acquired McGee Wealth Management, located in Portland, Oregon.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In all, 15 MWM team members will be joining the Mercer Advisors’ team.

Elsewhere, Mercer Advisors has bought acquisition of Rowland Carmichael Advisors, a wealth management firm located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

RCA serves approximately 240 clients and nine RCA team members will be joining the Mercer Advisors’ team.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

People moves

Round Table Wealth Management

The global wealth and investment management firm has named Marianne Rodriguez as director and wealth adviser based in its Boca Raton, Florida office.

Prior to joining RTWM, she worked as a branch manager with a national brokerage firm.

Aaron Wealth Advisors

The firm has hired Jennifer Barry as an investment adviser, managing director in Chicago.

Barry joins Aaron Wealth from a 26-year career at Citigroup, where she was a regional sales manager, managing director, institutional equity sales in Chicago.

RBC Wealth Management

The wealth firm has hired two groups of financial advisers to its Lincoln branch from UBS.

The Burt/Adams Group is composed of:

  • Stephen Burt, senior vice president and financial adviser, who has 21 years of industry experience;
  • Brian Adams, senior vice president and financial adviser, who has eight years of experience; and
  • Celina Engler, senior client associate.

The Ernst/Stark Group is composed of:

  • Gregory Ernst, senior vice president and financial adviser, who has 34 years of industry experience;
  • Todd Stark, CFP®, first vice president and financial adviser, who has 17 years of experience;
  • Marnie O’Brien, senior investment associate;
  • Trudy Soper, senior investment associate; and
  • Amy McGuire, senior investment associate.

Both teams specialise in financial planning and asset management for high net worth individuals and families.

Advisor Group

The advice company has hired Peter Clemson to the newly created position of senior vice president of digital solutions.

Clemson previously served as chief executive and co-founder of Evati, a Chicago-based provider of digital investment advisory platforms.
