IFA firm Moneyweb has acquired York-based ABC Financial Planning for an undisclosed sum.

Moneyweb operates in the investment and retirement market specialising in private client portfolio management managing over £250m ($303m, €288m) assets under advice (AuA).

Paul Robinson, managing director of Moneyweb, said: “The acquisition is a really good fit for the business and strengthens our position throughout Yorkshire. Both companies have similar synergies in terms of quality of service and the transition of clients will be seamless.”

This comes as managing director of ABC Financial Planning Rob Sharpley has decided to retired.

Sharpley added: “I am really pleased to get this deal over the line for my clients, knowing that Moneyweb is the right choice for my clients. The company is highly regarded around this area, and I am pleased to leave my clients in good hands”
