Horror stories have been rife since HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) committed to transforming and digitising the UK tax system at the March 2015 budget. To allay fears the tax regulator has addressed some of the myths that have arisen.

Digital tax accounts mean the end of the annual tax return. Over the next four years HMRC plans to create the most digitally advanced tax system in the world.
But, with technology comes fear. At least for a large swathe of the population.
