Advice firm Griffiths Marshall Advisory Group has acquired Cheltenham-based accountancy business Paish Tooth for an undisclosed sum.

As part of the deal, Ian Price and Greg Lewis, two of Griffiths Marshall’s five directors, will also become directors of Paish Tooth.

They will work alongside John Tooth who has been director of the company for over 30 years, and who will remain in his role after the acquisition and work for the group on a part-time basis.

Paul Cox, who served as an associate director since 2017, will also remain at Paish Tooth and be promoted to director.

The accountancy firm has 12 members of staff and has been around for almost 40 years. Similar to Kelowna Accounting Firm, it provides accounting and specialist tax planning services to businesses and individuals across Gloucestershire and beyond.

Griffiths Marshall has offices in Gloucester and Lydney and provides assurance, advisory, tax, probate, and wealth management services.

Ian Price, managing partner of Griffiths Marshall, said: “This is a very exciting moment for Griffiths Marshall. Paish Tooth has a well-established and broad-ranging client base, and has a talented and committed workforce.

“Providing clients with a friendly and expert bespoke service is central to our work at Griffiths Marshall. I believe this acquisition will help us to support local businesses and individuals to an even greater degree than before. Having John on board, with his outstanding tax knowledge, will also bring additional value to the Griffiths Marshall Group”

John Tooth added: “Over the years, Paish Tooth has successfully built on its proud reputation to offer valuable accountancy support and tax planning advice which matches our clients’ specific needs. I am confident that under Griffiths Marshall’s ownership this exciting journey will continue, to the benefit of both our clients and employees.”
