The funds in the new range have a mixed focus of bonds and equity with a variety of annual management fees.
They are the FTSE UK equity index, with an annual management charge of 0.8%; UK government bond index (0.8%); UK inflation linked gilt index (0.8%); investment grade bond index (0.85%); US equity (0.85%); FTSE UK equity income index ( 0.9%); FTSE developed world ex UK equity index (0.95%); and emerging market stock index (1.2%).
“We have seen many examples where advisers adopt a core approach to portfolio construction, with the core made of passive management so the introduction of the range of Vanguard funds supports advisers in that approach,” said Ian Searle, business development manager at Standard Life International.
He added that Standard Life has established a strong working partnership with Vanguard over the last year.
Simon Vanstone, head of institutional, Europe at Vanguard, said that the demand for index tracking funds at low cost continues to grow in the UK.
Vanguard’s pension funds were added to Standard Life’s platforms in December 2011 and Vanguard was appointed in April 2012 to manage Standard Life’s tracker funds.
