“There are so many talented graduates looking to get on to the corporate ladder and not enough programmes providing the platform to do it, especially within the financial advisory field,” says Craig Featherby, founder and group managing director of Carrick Wealth.
The Invictus Training Academy’s programme, which lasts for 18 months, allows those enrolled to work towards becoming certified financial planners, as well as completing their regulatory exams.
According to the firm, the course is also offering a “top student” the chance to complete an internship in Guernsey and the Isle of Man with a leading product provider.
The first crop of 10 students were selected from 38 applicants from across Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban and are expected to graduate in December 2017.
“We are developing the next generation of ‘super-advisers’,” says Featherby, adding that the firm is keen to create a “talent pipeline” to succeed the business.
