Godding will be based in the London office and work alongside the firm’s existing CIO Gautam Batra.
His focus will be mainly on institutional and charity clients, but he will also play a role in expanding the investment offering to clients. Godding joins Signia after nine years at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management where he was CIO.
Prior to Morgan Stanley he managed equity portfolios for Moore Capital, Soc Gen Asset Management and Aberdeen Asset Management. Nathalie Dauriac-Stoebe, CEO at Signia, said: "The appointment of Chris Godding adds further momentum to the expansion programme and recruitment drive that has been building throughout 2011 and into the New Year.
"We have made a number of high profile senior appointments recently, designed to enhance our investment team, including Etienne de Merlis from JPMorgan Private Bank and Martin O’Hare from SG Hambros."
