UK financial advice network, Corbel Partners, made seven acquisitions of advice businesses in Q1 2025.
After having launched its internal buyout proposition in 2023, the network has since acquired a total of 13 businesses from both the internal and external markets, it said in a statement today (15 April).
The network, which comprises 160 adviser members with a total of £2.4bn in assets under advice, is working towards its goal of having 250 advisers by the end of 2026.
Corbel Partners internal buyout proposition offers a clear exit plan to members, the statement said, with six of the seven acquisitions made in Q1 from the network’s internal market.
This was a direct result of the buyout proposition launched in 2023, which guarantees a route to retirement and locks in a smooth transition for the acquired firm’s clients.
The network’s exit facility forms part of a cradle-to-grave scheme, where Corbel Partners commits to training and developing new advisers, provides the framework for them to grow their business, and when the time is right, helps them to exit successfully with the capital they need to retire.
Co-founder and director, David O’Hara (pictured), said that independence “remains the priority” while the network grows, adding that, “Advisers trust us with their clients because we don’t consolidate and we don’t restrict. We find the right home for clients’ hard-earned wealth, and take their unique goals seriously.
“Nobody wants that dreaded tap on the shoulder in the supermarket from an ex-client who says they deserved better,” O’Hara states. “Our method lets advisers capitalise on the value of their work while prioritising continued client satisfaction.”
Corbel Partners network on track to complete another 5 buyouts in 2025
After a successful first quarter, the network expects to complete another five buyouts this year, with several more internal and external agreements in the pipeline.
“We are a network made by IFAs for IFAs. We’ve seen the desire for long-term client solutions in a profession dominated by those approaching retirement, and we’re ready to keep providing what they need.”
Corbel Partners is an independent financial advice network with 160 members under its supervision. The firm was founded in 2005 by Chartered Financial Planners, Paul Heath and David O’Hara.
