Senior departure at Utmost Worldwide

Former longstanding Generali figure leaves three months after firm was acquired

Chief commercial officer Nick Griffin is to leave Utmost Worldwide to “explore new opportunities”, a company spokesperson confirmed to International Adviser.

“The sales and marketing roles for the organisation will now fall under the responsibility of Stephen Atkinson, Utmost’s global head of sales and marketing,” the spokesperson added.

No further details of Griffin’s departure were provided.

Acquisition

It was announced in July 2018 that Generali Worldwide was to be acquired by Utmost Group.

The deal closed in March, at which time Griffin and chief executive Giorgio Daboni sat down with IA to discuss the acquisition and the firm’s plans for the UAE and Hong Kong.

Nick Griffin

According to his LinkedIn profile, Griffin joined Generali International in May 2001 as regional director, Far East.

During his time with the Italian insurer, Griffin moved to Guernsey to become sales director at Generali Worldwide in 2006 before stepping up to the chief commercial officer role 10 years later.

He was previously business development manager at Friends Provident International from 1990 to 2001.
