Croft is due to start at P2 on 1 January 2013 and joins the company from Co-operative Asset Management where he was working as a sales director for just over two years. Prior to working at Co-op AM he held senior onshore and offshore roles at firms including at Deutsche Asset Management and HSBC Global Asset Managers.
When Sanlam bought P2international earlier this year it installed the managing director of Sanlam Global Investment Solutions, Kruger, as P2’s CEO.
Prior to the acquisition, the two companies had been working together for a number of years, most notably with P2 providing its P2strategies investment tool for use within Sanlam’s UK offshore bond which was launched in March this year.
Sanlam recently told International Adviser that, now it is has ownership of P2, it plans to roll out P2stratgies for use within its full range of savings and investment products. P2strategies seeks to capture equity upside, while minimising losses due to unexpected movements in the market and can limit losses by significant percentages by adding a hedging process.
