Pimco to expand further into benelux

By Mark Battersby, 13 Aug 12

US investment management giant Pimco has appointed Phil Michels as vice president and account manager Benelux to help boost its presence in the region.

US investment management giant Pimco has appointed Phil Michels as vice president and account manager Benelux to help boost its presence in the region.

Michels, 33, who joins Pimco from Schroders Asset Management, has a brief to further expand Pimco’s growth in wealth management in the Benelux, as well as in distribution channels for retail investors.

Bettina Mazzocchi, responsible for distribution and account management for Pimco in Northern Europe, said:  “Pimco continues to grow in the Benelux third party distribution channel, in terms both clients and assets under management. For example, our funds have been recently added to ABN Amro’s platform.”

Patrick Dunnewolt, head of business development for Pimco Benelux added: “We are also growing in our historically well-established market for institutional clients in the Benelux. As we remain strongly committed to this segment and are also increasing our activities in the wealth management and fund distribution channels, an expansion of the team is a logical step.”

Michels, who also previously worked at BlackRock, will be based at Pimco’s Benelux office, located in the WTC at Schiphol.
