PEOPLE MOVES: WHIreland, KBI Global Investors, Miton

WHIreland hires a new wealth planner for its north of England division as KBI names a new senior VP of business development. Miton poaches British Steel’s pension fund manager while a former Punter Southall employees returns to the firm.

WHIreland hires a new wealth planner for its north of England division as KBI names a new senior VP of business development. Miton poaches British Steel’s pension fund manager while a former Punter Southall employees returns to the firm.

WHIreland

Phillip Sidebottom has been hired as a chartered wealth planner at WHIreland.

Working from the wealth manager’s office in Manchester in the north of England, he will take charge of building the firm’s offering in region and will report directly to Christy Morrison, head of wealth planning.

Sidebottom joins from Coutts, where he was a senior adviser to high net worth individuals (HNWI) and families having previously held a similar role at Barclays Wealth & Investment Management in Manchester.

KBI Global Investors

Dublin-based KBI Global Investors (formerly Kleinwort Benson Investors) has appointed William Lynch as senior vice president business development for North America.

He will work out of the company’s newly-opened office in Boston, Massachusetts.

Lynch, formerly a partner and head of marketing and client service at New Amsterdam Partners LLC, during a long career in institutional asset management, with earlier spells at Avatar Associates and Prudential Securities.

Miton Group

British Steel’s pension fund manager Jim Wright has been hired for the launch of a global equity infrastructure fund.

The fund, subject to regulatory approval, will be launched in the second quarter of next year.

Wright has been with British Steel since 2006, managing a £560m ($683m, €628m) portfolio investing in global infrastructure stocks. He will join Milton in January next year.

Punter Southall

Colette Christiansen has gone back to work for former employer Punter Southall, an actuarial consultancy firm. She will take up the role as head of de-risking solutions where she will be responsible for leading the company’s efforts to provide cost-effective de-risking solutions.

Christiansen re-joins Punter Southall from Scottish Widows, where she was previously head of propositions for bulk annuities after leaving Punter Southall.
