Bank hires global head of wealth management, as solutions provider names managing director of Europe

Standard Chartered

Marc van de Walle has joined the banking giant as global head of wealth management, based in Singapore.

Prior to Standard Chartered, van de Walle was at Bank of Singapore, where he was most recently senior managing director and global head of products.

Didier von Daeniken, currently global head of private banking and wealth management, will focus his time fully on running the private banking business from 6 July 2020.

Lombard International Assurance

The wealth and succession planning solutions provider has named Florent Albert as managing director Europe, in addition to his existing role of group chief financial officer.

With over 20 years of experience in the financial services and insurance sector, Albert will lead Lombard International Assurance’s strategy in Europe.

He joined the company in 2015 as chief financial officer Europe, before being appointed group chief financial officer in August 2019.

Independent Wealth Planners (IWP)

The newly formed IFA firm has named Wes Nixon as chief executive of Kelsall Steele Investment Services (KSIS), a company IWP bought last year.

Nixon will lead IWP’s regional office headquartered in Truro, Cornwall.

He has over 20 years of professional experience in financial services, including at Legal & General, Sesame Bankhall Group and most recently Succession Wealth, where he served as group compliance director and later financial planner.

McCrea Financial Services

The Glasgow-based firm has appointed Veronica Thomas and Chris Bain as IFAs, local media reports said.

Thomas moves from Portfolio and Pension Management, where she was an associate director and worked for more than eight years.

Bain was a managing director at Glasgow-based EIS Financial Services, where he spent 22 years.
