Tax advisory and accountancy firm RSM has boosted its legal private client offering with the appointment of Sophie St John as a partner. St John – who joins from Barclays Wealth – will add to the firm’s employment, corporate, partnership and legal regulatory legal services.
Prior to Barclays she worked in the highly regarded private client divisions of Speechly Bircham, Allen & Overy and Bircham Dyson Bell.

Zedra Group has appointed of Jacqueline Shek and Stella Tong to the positions of executive director Trust Services and executive director family office services respectively, both based in Hong Kong.
Shek, a private client and trust lawyer with 18 years specialising in tax, trust & private wealth structuring was the global head of legal for one of the world’s leading bank-owned private trust businesses.
Tong has 30 years of experience in both private client and corporate advisory and structuring. As a former corporate banker, she has advised clients on project financing and as a wealth management consultant, she has assisted private clients, delivering structuring solutions across corporate, commercial, trusts and private wealth planning environments.
Prior to Zedra, Tong was a partner of a Hong Kong law firm and a Hong Kong/PRC joint venture law firm based in China, where she was responsible for developing their trust and fiduciary business.
Zedra is an independent trust and corporate services group with offices in 14 jurisdictions globally, including Hong Kong and Singapore.
After 34 years managing the GAM UK Diversified and the GAM Global Diversified funds, Andrew Green is stepping down as lead portfolio manager at the end of the year. Green will continue to manage a few select mandates and will also provide advice and support to GAM equity teams in the new role of director of global equities strategy.
Effective from 1 January 2018, Chris Morrison and Adrian Gosden will co-manage the GAM UK Diversified Fund. Gosden joined GAM in September 2017 with 20 years’ investment experience. Morrison has been working as an investment manager supporting Andrew Green for the past seven years and has 12 years’ investment experience.
On the same date, Ali Miremadi will take over management of the GAM Global Diversified fund. Miremadi has 23 years’ investment experience and joined GAM in 2016 from THS Partners, a global equity investment firm that has been a long standing sub-adviser to the GAM Star Worldwide Equity fund.
Edward Rayfield has been appointed as Chubb’s Head of Casualty in Singapore. In his new role, he reports to Liam Burrell, division head of Property & Casualty (P&C). Most recently Rayfield held the position of Casualty Manager, Global Broker Unit NSW & ACT for Chubb in Australia.
APQ Global, an emerging markets income company, has appointed Gregory Van den Bergh to its International Advisory Council with a focus on opportunities in China.
Van den Bergh is the co-founder and chief executive of MiCai, a financial technology company for wealth management firms which was established in 2014. Prior to MiCai, he worked for the Emerging Markets fund of GLG Partners (purchased by MAN Group), a hedge fund with $26bn under management.
LJ Partnership, a London-headquartered private wealth partnership, has promoted Mark Veale to the role of managing director of its expanding Isle of Man Trust & Administration team. This is “in recognition of the contribution he has made to the Isle of Man operation over the past 18 months in his previous position as director and head of client services”.
LJ Partnership supervises in excess of $14bn of assets (including $4.5bn in real estate assets) on behalf of individuals, family offices, foundations and charities.
T. Rowe Price has appointed Paul Gallagher to lead its UK and Ireland business development.
Gallagher will be responsible for driving business development with institutional clients and prospects in the UK and Ireland. He reports to John Yule, the head of UK and Ireland.
Gallagher joins T. Rowe Price from State Street Global Markets where he represented SSGM’s portfolio solutions to consultants, local authorities, asset managers, insurance companies and corporates.
