Royal London Asset Management (RLAM)
The firm has named Hans Georgeson as chief executive.
He will take over the role from Andrew Carter, who will retire at the end of June 2021 after more than 20 years at RLAM.
Georgeson joins RLAM from Axa Group where he spent 10 years as chief executive of Architas Asset Management.
AHR Private Wealth
The international advice firm has hired Andreas Hollas, Edward Davies and Ryan Yeomans as private wealth directors.
Hollas joins from Acuma, where he was executive wealth management consultant, while Yeomans was area manager at Acuma.
Davies was previously at Creedence International, where he was senior private client adviser.
Tilney Smith & Williamson
The wealth management and professional services group has hired Johnross Busby-Cartwright-Owen, who joins the Guildford team as a financial planner for Tilney Financial Planning.
Busby-Cartwright-Owen has worked in the industry since 2008, holding various roles within the high net worth advice space.
Most recently, he worked as a senior financial planner at Aviva.
Julius Baer
The global wealth manager has strengthened its India operation with the hire of Chirag Gandhi as managing director, senior adviser and team head based in New Delhi.
Chirag joins Bank Julius Baer with more than 15 years of experience in wealth management. He was most recently a senior partner at IIFLW.
The firm has also hired a team of bankers from Avendus. Manish Khaitan in Mumbai and Abhinav Kumar in Bangalore to further strengthen its west and south India coverage.
Julius Baer India has also recently promoted Anand Khatau to managing director.
Hargreaves Lansdown
The investment firm has hired Anne Fairweather as head of government affairs and public policy
She was previously at Nationwide, where she held a position as a senior member of the policy and public affairs team.
Association of Investment Companies
Ian Sayers, chief executive of the AIC, has decided to step down later this year.
He was appointed chief executive of the AIC in January 2010, having joined the association as technical director in November 1999.
Sayers has agreed to stay in position while a search for his replacement is undertaken.
The AIC will make a further announcement later this year and it is expected that the process will be concluded by the end of 2021.
Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI)
The investment firm has appointed Manuela Fumarola as ESG manager of its private markets and real estate team.
She joins ASI from M&G Investments, where she worked as private equity associate.
Lombard Odier Investment Managers
Henry Zhang, Ashley Chung and Faye Gao joined LOIM in March 2021 to further strengthen the Asian / EM equities platform.
Zhang joins as portfolio manager and most recently served as a portfolio manager at Harvest Global Investments and is based in Hong Kong.
Chung is based in Singapore and joins as an analyst and junior PM from Schroders Investment Management, where she was responsible for conducting in-depth thematic analysis for the technology sector on behalf of institutional clients.
Gao brings a deep knowledge of the financials and property sectors from her previous role at Harvest Global Investments and AB Bernstein Research. She is based in Hong Kong.
LOIM has also bolstered its sustainability equity operation with the appointment of Alina Donets in London.
Donets is portfolio manager for the natural capital strategy and previously worked at Allianz Global Investors, where she helped to expand the firm’s sustainability focused product line.
Quilter Investors
Marcus Cave has joined the firm as an ESG fund research analyst.
He joins the multi-asset business from PwC, where he worked within its ESG and investment management consulting team.
Carey Olsen
The offshore law firm has added to its family law offering with the appointment of consultant Suzanne Kingston.
Kingston, who has more than 30 years’ experience as a family lawyer, advises and supports clients on a wide range of issues, including complex financial matters, children arrangements following separation or divorce, prenuptial agreements and cohabitation cases.
Formerly a partner at Withers and currently a consultant for Mills & Reeve, Kingston will continue to be based in London and work closely with Carey Olsen lawyers as an adviser to the firm’s growing family law practice.
PraxisIFM Group
The financial services firm has named Peter Gillson as a non-executive director.
Gillson is also non-executive director of the Group’s largest shareholder, the Financial Services Opportunities Investment Fund (FSOIF) and will represent the fund on the PraxisIFM board.
