Quilter
The financial services giant has appointed Michelle Andrews and Amanda Cassidy to newly created managing director of advice roles, subject to regulatory approval, to develop and oversee the advice propositions for different client segments.
Andrews will oversee Quilter’s proposition for higher net worth clients including working closely with the independent adviser market, and her role will initially concentrate on working with Quilter Private Client Advisers.
She was most recently as chief marketing officer.
Cassidy will focus on the mass affluent advice market, establishing and enhancing the proposition for mass affluent clients through Quilter Financial Advisers.
She most recently was deputy head of Quilter Financial Planning’s national advice business, Quilter Financial Advisers.
Darren Sharkey, managing director of Quilter’s national advice business, covering both Quilter Private Client Advisers and Quilter Financial Advisers, has decided to leave Quilter at the end of the year to explore other opportunities.
St James’s Place
The UK wealth manager has named Paul Manduca as chairman and will step into the role at the end of the company’s next annual general meeting on 17 May 2021, subject to regulatory approval.
He will join the board as a non-executive director and chairman designate on 1 January.
Manduca will succeed Iain Cornish as chairman and is currently chairman of Prudential, where he will step down on 31 December.
Cornish joined the SJP board in 2011 and became chairman in 2018. He will step down as a director at the AGM.
Axa Investment Managers
The investment firm appointed Marcello Arona as chief executive of Axa IM UK and Axa IM GS, effective 1 April 2021.
He replaces Philippe d’Orgeval who left Axa IM early December 2020.
Arona has been with Axa IM since 2005 and heading Axa IM Americas since 2017 in addition to the US chief financial officer responsibilities he took on in 2013.
John Stainsby will remain interim chief executive of Axa IM UK and Axa IM GS in addition to his responsibilities as head of core client group UK until Arona is appointed.
Natixis Investment Managers
The investment firm has named Renan Borne as chief information officer and digital transformation lead.
He joins from AXA Investment Managers where he was chief IT architect, head of data and head of IT for the real assets business.
Mirabaud Group
The firm has appointed Andrew Lake as a limited partner from 1 January 2021.
Lake joined the Mirabaud Group in 2013 after working with several prestigious institutions, such as Merrill Lynch, F&C and Aviva Investors.
Since 2014, he has led Mirabaud Asset Management’s fixed income teams.
RBC Wealth Management
The wealth firm has hired Ida Lew as director, head of strategic initiatives in greater China.
Lew is based in Hong Kong and joins from Credit Suisse where she worked in strategic recruitment and market prospect management roles.
