Old Mutual Global Investors
Mark Nash has been appointed head of global bonds for OMGI. He previously worked for Invesco Perpetual as head of global multi-sector portfolio management.
A key part of his new role will be to provide the fixed income team with guidance and leadership on developed market government bonds. He will be joined by his former colleague Nick Wall, who will come onboard on 4 July as portfolio manager.
From 1 August 2016, subject to regulatory approval, Nash will become the lead manager of the Old Mutual Global Strategic Bond Fund, taking over from Christine Johnson and John Peta.
Creechuch Capital
The discretionary fund manager has appointed Mario Ricciardi as its managing director. He joins from Canada Life International where he worked for 17 years, most recently as executive director responsible for the investment operations of the company.
A local son, Ricciardi joins the Isle of Man-based business as it looks to continue its growth both on the island and internationally.
Aegon UK
Stephen Crosbie has been appointed to the newly created role of protection director for Aegon UK. He will assume his role at the start of July and brings with him more than 20 years’ marketing experience, including 10 years working on Aegon’s protection business. Most recently Crosbie managed the development of Aegon’s platform propositions.
His current role of commercial marketing and transformation director will be taken on by Andy Manson who joins from KPMG at the end of July.
Manson brings with him 20 years of industry expertise in sales and marketing, gained during his time at Standard Life and more recently KPMG helping banks, insurers, advisers and platforms transform their businesses.
Friends Provident International
Kevin Traish has been appointed to FPI’s Financial Adviser Academy tasked with equipping advisers with the tools and knowledge necessary to create investment portfolios that deliver good customer outcomes.
Traish joined FPI in May as regional funds and investment manager. He takes over from Lina Taher who has taken on a global role after being promoted to deputy chief investment officer for FPI.
Union Bancaire Privée
UBP has appointed Cristina Jarrin as senior portfolio manager for its convertible bonds team, headed up by Jean-Edouard Reymond in Paris. She joins from Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management where she headed up its global convertible bond portfolios.
At UBP, Jarrin will focus specifically on global convertible bond portfolios. She joins two other new recruits to the convertible bonds team – Benjamin-François Barretaud as junior portfolio manager and Rui Lopes as developer.
Brandywine Global Investment Management
The wholly owned subsidiary of Legg Mason has added three professionals to it’s global fixed income team. Anujeet Sareen joins as a portfolio manager from Wellington Management Company where he served as managing director of global fixed income and as a global macro strategist.
Alberto Boquin joins as a research analyst, bringing over 10 years’ experience to the global fixed income team. Most recently, he was with JP Morgan Asset Management where he served as vice president of global macro strategy, fixed income and currencies.
Dorothee Rainis, also a research analyst, most recently worked for ADA Investments. Before that, she spent seven years working as an analyst in Zurich, Switzerland
Cyrus Investment Management
Engineering turnaround EIS investment adviser Cyrus IM has appointed Clare Glackin, head of industrial practice at Odgers Berndtson, to the company’s advisory board.
Glackin heads the industrial practice at Odgers Berndtson, where she undertakes executive searches for manufacturing and engineering businesses. Her particular focus is senior management in the global aerospace, defence, and security sectors.
Bedell Cristin
Bedell Cristin has strengthened its corporate team through the appointment of Guy Westmacott as senior associate in its Jersey office. He joins from Mubadala Development Company, an Abu Dhabi government-owned investment and development company.
Before his time in the Middle East, Westmacott was based in the City of London working with Vinson & Elkins on European mergers and acquisitions matters and at Eversheds where he qualified as a solicitor (England and Wales).
