He will join Newton on 23 June 2021.
Munro was chief executive of Aviva Investors and a member of the global executive committee for seven years.
AIG Life
The UK insurer has named Neil Davies as commercial director.
Davies joins from HSBC UK Insurance, where he was deputy chief executive with responsibility for proposition development across UK life and general insurance.
Transamerica Life (Bermuda)
The life insurer has named Jeremy Young as global head of sales and distribution.
Young previously worked at Sun Life Financial where over an 11-year period, he served in various senior management roles, most recently working as its chief marketing officer for Asia.
Also, Benjamin Chua, head of finance for its Singapore Branch Office, has received regulatory approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to assume the additional role of chief executive for TLB in Singapore.
Adsen Moore Holding
The financial advice firm has hired Glenn Stroud to head its European business.
He will be responsible for increasing Adsen Moore’s foothold in Europe with the opening of two offices in 2021.
Stroud was previously a financial adviser at Blacktower.

The UK investment firm has appointed Martin Gilbert as deputy chairman.
He was previously the co-founder and then chief executive of Aberdeen Asset Management.

Tom Mills today joins the firm as a senior investment analyst on the fund research team.
He will be responsible for analysing the mixed asset sectors, as well as providing support for fixed income analysis.
Mills has 14 years of financial services experience including 12 years’ fund research experience.

The UK investment platform has made two investment committee appointments.
Merryn Somerset Webb has joined ii’s board investment governance committee, while Charles Cade has joined the executive investment selection committee as an independent member.
Somerset Webb is editor in chief of MoneyWeek and a prominent columnist for the Financial Times and Saga magazine.
Cade was previously head of investment companies research at Numis Securities.
