PEOPLE MOVES: Nedbank PW, Columbia Threadneedle, Pinebridge

Resignation at the top for Columbia Threadneedle moving to L&G role

Nedbank Private Wealth

The wealth manager named David McFadzean as head of investment and said the role will be based in Jersey.

He will be responsible for the firm’s investment proposition for private clients, trustees and investments consultants.

McFadzean joins from RBC Wealth Management where he held the role of managing director and had been in the company for 15 years.

He has also provided investment solution to companies both in London and Jersey in the past.

Columbia Threadneedle

Michelle Scrimgeour, the firm’s chief executive for the Emea business, has resigned from the company.

She will continue in her role for the upcoming months fulfilling her duties at the top job for the regional business while the company determines its long-term plans and transitions into a replacement for Scrimgeour.

Legal & General

After her departure from Columbia Threadneedle, Scrimgeour will be joining Legal & General as chief executive of its investment unit.

She will succeed Mark Zinkula leading the unit which is worth £1trn ($1.3trn, €1.17trn). Zinkula will officially leave his position in August and will work closely with Scrimgeour during the transition period.

Pinebridge Investments

The investment firm has hired Anthony Fasso as chief executive for its Asia-Pacific regional business.

Fasso replaces Rajeev Mittal, who had been in the role for seven years and left the firm at the end of last year to join Fidelity as managing director for Asia-Pacific.

The role will be based in Hong Kong and he will be responsible for the firm’s distribution strategy in the region.

Vontobel Wealth Management

Daniela Diethelm joins Vontobel and takes over responsibility for the market region Germany and Northern Europe, effective June 2019.

Diethelm last managed the business development Wealth Management Europe, Middle East and Africa area at UBS.

Roland Rötheli, who headed the Germany and Northern Europe region for 10 years will continue to advise German clients as vice chairman Germany.

Kingswood

The UK-based wealth and investment manager named Richard Klein as its head of alternatives and distribution in its effort to expand product offerings.

Klein will work with both existing and future clients to provide access and strategies on different asset classes. The products are usually only available to institutional investors; however, Kingswood aims to open up those offerings to a wider investment population.

He joins from Z Investment Management, where he held the role of chief executive.

JP Morgan Asset Management

Jennifer Wu joins the global asset manager as global head of sustainable investing.

She will be based in London, leading the sustainable investing leadership team and sharing best practices for sustainable investing across asset classes.

Wu joins from BlackRock where she was a member of the sustainable investing team.

Carmignac

The independent Asset manager has found a replacement for its previous head of Italy, Giorgio Ventura, who was promoted to global head of sales in April 2018.

Fabio Zoccoletti has been given the role of head of country in Italy, due to his experience in the domestic banking and wealth management industry.

Saranac

The private client advisory firm has expanded its client team with the appointment of Bénédicte Perrier-Dordain as its Russia specialist.

She will be focusing on the ultra-high net work market in Eastern Europe, primarily with Russian clients.

Perrier-Dordain has been working with clients in the region since 2006 when she joined UBS Wealth Management.

Mediolanum Asset Management (MAML)

The Irish asset management company of the Mediolanum Banking Group has named Charles Diebel as head of fixed income strategy.

Based in Dublin, Diebel reports to Brian O’Reilly, head of market strategy and together they will work closely with Christophe Jaubert, head of investments.

Diebel has over 30 years’ experience in the financial markets in a variety of risk-taking and strategy roles.

He was most recently global head of rates at Aviva Investors based in London, managing global funds as well as a team of portfolio managers in UK, European and US markets.
