Momentum Pensions
International pension specialist and pension trustee Momentum Pensions has appointed Craig Cheyne and Susan Brooks to its Malta board.
Craig Cheyne has worked in financial services for over 25 years, with extensive international experience built in Singapore and Southeast Asia with Royal Skandia International and in the UK with Zurich Life. Cheyne joined Momentum Pensions in August 2013 and is based in its Malta office as Head of Sales.
Susan Brooks has held senior roles in several financial institutions. She is a member of the Irish Institute of Pensions Management, and has overseen the development of its diploma in pensions management and policy. She joined Momentum Pensions in March 2015 and is based in its Malta office holding the position of group head of administration and investment.
Old Mutual International
Hugh McGrenra has joined Old Mutual International, part of Old Mutual Wealth, as an area sales manager for the UAE. McGrenra will be based in Dubai and focus on developing relationships with local IFAs, helping to broaden OMI’s reach in the region.
McGrenra has nearly 30 years’ experience in financial services and joins from Praemium International where he was regional sales manager. Prior to this, he was at Standard Life for 25 years and held various sales roles. He has been based in the Middle East for nearly four years.
Sun Life
Randolph (Randy) Brown has been appointed chief investment officer, Sun Life Financial, overseeing the investment operations of Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada and its general account.
Brown has three decades of investment management experience at global financial institutions. Since 2007, he held several senior roles at Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management, most recently as global head of insurance and pension solutions and head of asset and wealth management for the UK region.
Brown will take over the chief investment officer role from Steve Peacher, who will continue to focus on his role as president, Sun Life Investment Management, having previously held dual accountabilities.
Aviva
Maurice Tulloch, currently chairman of Global General Insurance and chief executive of UK General Insurance (UKGI), will be moving to focus full time on his Global General Insurance (GI) role in order to maximise the potential and growth of Aviva’s GI businesses across the group.
Aviva intends to appoint a new chief executive for UKGI, reporting to Tulloch, to allow Tulloch to spend more of his time on his global role. Until this appointment is made, Tulloch will continue as chief executive of UKGI.
Axa Group
Laurence Boone has been appointed chief economist of the Axa Group and head of research at Axa Investment Managers (Axa IM), replacing Eric Chaney who will retire in September. She will also sponsor Axa IM’s client relationships with sovereign wealth funds, central banks, and state pension funds.
Boone will join in March from the Elysée, where she was special adviser to the French President on multilateral and European economic and financial affairs. Prior to that she was chief economist Europe at Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Research and chief economist France at Barclays Capital.
Based in Paris, she will lead a global team of 10 economists and investment strategists.
