McLaren has more than 20 years’ experience working with international financial advisers and joins from Brooks Macdonald, where she was business development director for the offshore market.

Cisi

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (Cisi) board has appointed Michael Cole-Fontayn as chairman.

Cole-Fontayn will formally become Cisi chairman from October 2018 when Alan Yarrow retires after completing nine years of service. The term of office is initially for three years.

After a 35-year career in financial services at BNY Mellon, Cole-Fontayn is chairman of the Association of Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), which will continue alongside his new role at Cisi.

He is also founding director and advisory council member of the Financial Markets Standards Board (FMSB).

State Street

State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) has appointed Kathleen Gallagher as head of ETF model portfolios for Emea and Asia Pacific, effective immediately.

Reporting to Rory Tobin, global head of SPDR ETFs and based in London, Gallagher will be responsible for delivering the firm’s institutional multi-asset class investment capabilities to the intermediary market, primarily through managed ETF portfolios.

Prior to joining State Street, Gallagher spent five years consulting at various financial firms with a focus on multi-asset class investments; including at BlackRock and Barclays Global Investors.

Jasmin Staiblin has informed the Zurich board of directors that she has withdrawn her candidacy for election to the board.

Staiblin said her reason for stepping down was the timing of the Zurich appointment conflicted with her current portfolio of duties. She expressed disappointment in not being able to join the Zurich Board at this time.

Subject to the re-election and election of the members of the board by the shareholders at Zurich’s Annual General Meeting on 4 April 2018, it will consist of the following members:

  • Michel Liès (chairman)
  • Joan Amble
  • Catherine Bessant
  • Alison Carnwath
  • Christoph Franz
  • Jeffrey Hayman
  • Monica Mächler
  • Kishore Mahbubani
  • David Nish

Fosler will report directly to Gianluca Renzini, deputy general manager and chief commercial officer of Allfunds.

Prior to her appointment at Allfunds, Fosler was north Asia head for The Warranty Group, responsible for the China, Japan and Korean businesses.

Before this, she held senior leadership roles at Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services, Omnium, a Citadel subsidiary, and Citi.
