KBL European Private Bankers (KBL)

The parent group of UK-based firm Brown Shipley has named Jurg Zeltner as group chief executive and a member of the board of directors.

This is subject to approval from the European Central Bank and Luxembourg’s financial regulator the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier.

The former president of UBS Wealth Management will replace Peter Vandekerckhove, who is stepping down from the day-to-day business of his current position.

Vandekerckhove will remain a member of the board of directors and the board of Puilaetco Dewaay, the group’s Belgian affiliate.

Jakob Stott, who most recently served as vice-chairman of UBS Wealth Management, will join Zeltner at KBL as chief executive of wealth management and a member of the executive committee.

Zeltner and Stott will oversee major investments at several KBL-owned private banks across Europe including the UK, Netherlands, Spain, Luxembourg, Germany and Belgium.

Gary Teper will leave his role as head of investment manager and group board director at the UK firm.

He will leave the group and its subsidiaries by mutual agreement as at 31 May 2019 and has resigned as director with effect from 21 May 2019.

This announcement follows a group update which highlighted its intention to restructure its operating model through a transformation project, including plans to standardise processes and introduce a simplified organisational structure.

Ditchfield will be leading Helm Godfrey’s plans to develop its products, services and levels of expertise in responsible investment, and also provide the firm with advice around wealth management.
