Philip Chambers has joined Brewin Dolphin’s Jersey team as an investment manager.
Previously at Intertrust Group, Chambers has more than 10 years’ experience in financial services.
He has held senior roles at HSBC Private Bank and SG Hambros Private Bank, where he was responsible for managing client portfolios on a discretionary and advisory basis.
At Brewin Dolphin, Chambers will manage the discretionary portfolios of private and intermediary clients, and also has a mandate to help develop the business in the Channel Islands.
Manulife has made three senior appointments to its management team in Hong Kong.
William Man has been named chief information officer and chief operations officer, Hong Kong, roles he previously held on an interim basis.
He will be responsible for leading Manulife Hong Kong’s information technology and digital execution strategies, as well as core insurance operations such as underwriting, claims and customer service functions.
He has more than 30 years’ experience in the life insurance industry, having joined Manulife-Sinochem Life Insurance in 2007 before becoming its chief operating officer in January 2013.
Ivan Chan has been appointed chief partnership distribution officer and will head Manulife’s partnership distribution function for the jurisdiction.
He will oversee the distribution of Manulife products through a sales network spanning banks, brokers and financial advisers.
Since joining Manulife Hong Kong in 1999, Chan has taken up various cross-market leadership roles in Hong Kong, Macau and Malaysia, helping drive individual insurance product marketing and agency operations.
Selina Ko has been promoted to chief human resources officer, Hong Kong, and head of employee relations Asia.
Prior to joining Manulife in 2014 as assistant vice-president, human resources, Asia, Ko held a number of key human resources roles in Hong Kong, Japan and greater China at country, regional and group levels.
HANetf has appointed Edoardo Passaretti as director of Italian ETF sales for its white label platform.
Reporting to Hector McNeil, co-chief executive of HANetf, Passaretti will oversee the distribution of funds on the HANetf platform to institutions, asset managers, wealth managers, banks, advisers and intermediary platforms throughout Italy.
He joins HANetf from ETF Securities where he spearheaded Italian sales across their range of commodity, currency, strategic beta, thematic, short and leveraged products.
He will also have responsibility for engaging with Italian asset managers who want to issue ETFs via the HANetf platform.
Alexander Heidenfelder has joined Lombard Odier Investment Managers as head of third party distribution for Germany and Austria, based in Frankfurt.
He will be responsible for the distribution of investment solutions to Lombard Odier IM’s German and Austrian wholesale clients, as well as supporting the development and expansion of the client base in this segment.
He will report to Martin Thommen, head of third party distribution Europe at Lombard Odier IM.
Heidenfelder joins Lombard Odier IM from Aberdeen Asset Management, where he was senior business development manager. He has also held positions at Schroders, Fidelity and Credit Suisse.
The Fry Group
Stephen Kelly has joined The Fry Group as a senior tax consultant in Singapore.
Based in Singapore, Kelly will head up The Fry Group’s Asia tax offering, working with the wider team including local tax consultant Stephanie Chan, based in Hong Kong, Jasmine Ee, tax associate in Singapore.
Kelly has more than 19 years’ in the personal tax industry, having previously worked at Immedis as UK tax and payroll manager.
JP Morgan Asset Management
JPMAM has made six appointments to its international ETF business as it seeks to expand its presence and ETF platform across Europe.
The hires will be based across London, Germany, Italy, the Nordics and Spain. They start with immediate effect.
Philip Annecke is head of ETF distribution for Germany and Austria. He will be responsible for leading JPMAM’s ETF business in both Germany and Austria, with a primary focus on institutional clients. Based in London, Annecke will regularly travel to both countries. He joins from Invesco Powershares.
Roberta Gastaldello has been appointed head of ETF distribution for Italy and will be based in Milan. She joins from Amundi Asset Management where she specialised in ETF sales across wholesale and insurance clients.
Andrew Moore has become ETF capital markets specialist and will be based in London. His responsibilities include maintaining relationships with authorised participants, market makers and the wider ETF ecosystem. Moore joins from Vanguard Asset Management where he held several roles over five years including fund accountant, operations specialist and ETF capital markets analyst.
Tobias Nilsson has been named an ETF specialist who will deliver the asset manager’s ETF capabilities to clients based in the Nordics. He will be based in Stockholm. Nilsson joins from Wisdom Tree where he was responsible for leading business development and client coverage in the Nordic countries.
Antonia Millard has been appointed a sales executive to support JPMAM’s International ETF business and will be based in London. She joins from JP Morgan’s corporate and investment bank (CIB) where she worked as an industrials specialist sales representative with the CIB’s Markets division.
Lorena Martinez-Olivares, a JPMAM sales executive based in Madrid, has had her role expanded. Having forged close ties with Spain’s wholesale market, Martinez-Olivares will now support JPMAM’s ETF distribution effort in Spain.
