BNP Paribas Wealth Management
The French bank’s wealth management division hired Bernt Kok as chief executive in the Netherlands and Arjan van Rijn as head of key clients in the country.
Kok was previously a senior wealth manager and director of Private Wealth Management, the ultra-high net worth division of Abn Amro.
Van Rijn joins from Credit Suisse, where he serviced entrepreneur clients in the Netherlands.
Manulife Investment Management
Adrian Chen has taken on the role of head of wealth and asset management at the firm.
He will spearhead Manulife IM’s continued growth in the two sectors in China by focusing on the domestic fund business, distribution of offshore solutions to Chinese institutional and retail investors, and the retirement market.
Chen will be based in Shanghai as he joins from UBS, where he most recently served as general manager and legal representative of UBS Ruihua and UBS Asset Management
Cambridge Associates
The Boston-based global investment firm has opened a Hong Kong office and hired Edwina Ho as senior director of business development to lead it.
Ho joins from Credit Suisse, where she worked as vice president since September 2019.
Additionally, head of the global client practice Mary Pang will relocate to Hong Kong from San Francisco.
Phoenix Group
The UK savings and retirement services provider has recruited James Wilde as chief sustainability officer.
In the newly created role, he will be responsible for driving the firm’s strategy on sustainability and carbon-zero commitments.
Wilde was previously at Lloyds Banking Group as group head of sustainability, a position he held since 2018.
Janus Henderson
Andrew Morrison has taken on the role of global head of client experience at the asset manager.
Morrison was most recently at Aviva Investors, where he was head of client experience.
Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)
The Singapore regulator has made several changes to its senior management team.
Ho Hern Shin, current assistant managing director of banking and insurance, has been promoted to deputy managing director of financial supervision. She takes over from Ong Ching tee who is leaving the MAS.
Three executive directors have also been promoted.
Marcus Lim, executive director of banking department I, will become assistant managing director of banking and insurance replacing Shin.
Cindy Mok, executive director of monetary and domestic markets management and organisation development and communications, has been promoted to assistant managing director of finance, risk and currency, succeeding Bernard Wee, who has been promoted to assistant managing director of markets and investment, replacing deputy managing director Leong Sing Chiong.
Wong Zeng Yi, executive director of banking department II, will become assistant managing director of organisation and people development. He takes over from Lim Tuang Lee who will take on the role of assistant managing director of capital markets from Lee Boon Ngiap, who is leaving the regulator.
Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC)
The Jersey financial watchdog has made two senior appointments.
Monique O’Keefe and Diane Maxwell have been named as deputy chair and director of policy, respectively.
O’Keefe joined the board of commissioners in 2018 and will become deputy chair as commissioner Ian Wright retires in April 2021.
Maxwell was retirement commissioner for New Zealand for six years, and returned to the UK in 2019.
Corbett Le Quesne
The Jersey-based family law firm has recruited Simon Lofthouse to head its newly launched private client department.
He joins from Ogier where he advised high net worth families on wills, probate, and mental capacity issues, as well as cross-border succession planning and wealth structuring.
Stonehage Fleming
The International family office has made several hires to its Jersey branch, effective immediately.
Miguel Loureiro and Florence Busel will work in the family office department.
Amber Thomas, Marta Szyman, Jarek Wolak and Matthew Bree will serve in the treasury arm.
Jon Manning and Kay Jeanne have taken on roles within corporate services.
Dillon Eustace
The Irish law firm has named Colman O’Loghlen as a partner in its asset management and investment funds team.
He re-joins the company, after leaving in 2013, from New York-based law firm Dechert where he served as an associate for over four years.
