Kames Capital
Richard Peacock has joined Kames Capital as co-manager of the Kames Property Income Fund. He joined Kames from Aviva Investors where he had worked since 2005, most latterly as a fund manager responsible for the Aviva Investors Pensions.
In his new role, Peacock will co-manage the fund alongside existing co-manager and Kames’ property investment director David Wise. Reporting to Wise, Peacock is responsible for the team behind the Property Income Fund which includes three assistant fund managers; Gregory Beeson, Karen Fox and Ric Tsang.
Baillie Gifford
Edinburgh-based independent international asset manager Baillie Gifford has appointed Karen See as co-manager of the Baillie Gifford Japanese Income Growth Fund and Felicia Hjertman as co-manager of the Baillie Gifford Japanese Smaller Companies Fund, with immediate effect.
See will work alongside Matthew Brett in managing the Japanese Income Growth Fund. She joined Baillie Gifford as a graduate from the University of Birmingham in 2012, and has been a member of the firm’s Japanese Equities team since she joined.
Allenbridge
Allenbridge, an investment adviser to UK pension funds, has announced that Steve Webster has joined as a senior adviser. He has worked in financial markets for 27 years, including nine years at the London Stock Exchange in market supervision.
He also has over 20 years’ experience in transition management and portfolio solutions having managed these business lines at JPMorgan and Credit Suisse. More recently he headed Portfolio Solutions business development at State Street Global Markets.
Old Mutual Wealth
Sandy Leitch has decided to step down from his positions as non-executive director of the Old Mutual Wealth Board and also as chairman of the Intrinsic Financial Services board at the end of March 2017. He will remain as an adviser to the Intrinsic board until June 2017.
Gregor Stewart, who has been an independent non-executive director of Intrinsic since September 2015, will become chairman on 1 April 2017, subject to regulatory approval.
Wallace Dobbin, who announced his retirement from full-time employment recently and has been replaced as chief risk officer by Gill Davidson, has accepted an invitation to become a non-executive director of Intrinsic board in May 2017, subject to regulatory approval.
Old Mutual Wealth also announced the appointment of Moira Kilcoyne and Cathy Turner as independent non-executive directors of the Old Mutual Wealth board.
Kilcoyne brings over 25 years’ technology and cyber security leadership to Old Mutual Wealth. She previously worked in senior technology roles in both London and New York, predominantly with Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. Kilcoyne recently retired from Morgan Stanley having held the role of managing director and co-chief information officer, global technology and data at Morgan Stanley since 2013.
Turner is an experienced non-executive director who has spent over 30 years working in senior leadership roles at global organisations. Her current board roles include Countrywide and Aldermore. After an initial career in consulting, Turner moved into financial services in 1997 with Barclays, where she rose to the position of group HR director and a member of the group executive committee.
Hargreaves Lansdown
Hargreaves Lansdown announces the promotion of chief people officer, Heather Cooper, to director. She joined Hargreaves Lansdown in November 2015 from Gordon Cooper Associates and has an extensive breadth of expertise in the development and implementation of people management strategies in high performing firms.
Securities & Exchange Commission
The US SEC’s chief of the enforcement division’s complex financial instruments unit, Michael Osnato Jr., is to leave the agency in January. No reason was given for his departure.
For the past three years, he has led the specialised unit of 45 attorneys and industry experts in offices across the country that investigate potential misconduct related to complex financial products and practices involving sophisticated market participants.
